Minnivallalaekur

Technical trout fishing for big fish

Affectionately known as the 'Mini' this stream, located about an hour south-east of Reykjavík, is one that fishermen across Iceland and the world impatiently wait to fish. The Mini has been known to surrender some large brown trout with the largest of 20lbs caught in 2001. However, it is more likely that an average brown weighing 2 to 5lbs is what you will encounter, although plenty of 5-10lb trout are caught every season.

This small stream winds its way through the surrounding farmland and has been known to produce dry fly action. With four rods per day available on the 7km of water, the Mini is perfect for fishermen who like great fishing on an intimate-sized river.
